Hey Internet, this is me again 👋. This article is the first I’ve been writing in a -long- while, but I decided to get back to it and share what I’ve been doing lately.

This is my new website, and you’ll find some articles about my thoughts and experiences, and some other content I hope you’ll find interesting!

🥸 But first, who am I?

I guess you don’t know me yet. So here I am, Julien Batonnet, a tech enthusiast working on many personal projects and who believes technology can be used to improve people lives.

I’m trying to work for companies aligning with my values, as this is the best way to build trust and move together in the same direction. In case you’re interested, here is a link to my LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/julienbatonnet/

But you’ll understand more about me and my values the more you read my content 🙂

🤯 So is this my blog?

I’ve had some websites before, but I never managed to find the best solution to share my thoughts. I needed a platform to easily write articles, share some news I find interesting, some short thoughts, my projects and more. So this website is connected to multiple other products I use, like Notion and Pocket, to easily share things with you all.

My first step is to publish some articles and tutorials. You will be able to check for new ones regularly or use the Feed button above to connect using any RSS client.

I’ll then add a curated news feed. I like staying up to date with many technologies and I’d like to reshare the news I find interesting on this website.

Then, I’ll include a listing of my different projects for you to explore and follow them. I try to keep things open as much as possible, so many of them are and will be available on my GitHub: https://github.com/jbatonnet

I may also include the different tools / softwares I use everyday. I spend quite some time choosing the right one for my needs, so it could be useful for you all to understand why and maybe follow my recommendations.

So it’s a little bit more than a blog, it’s my own sharing space if you prefer!

💡 And now what?

For transparency, I re-uploaded the articles I published back in 2013. They are available in French only and you can access them in the Old articles article series.

At the time of writing this article, I’m mainly focused on Kubernetes and Home Automation for my personal projects. I’ll create two article series for them, explaining my setup, the reasoning and how to do it yourself if you want.

You can access all my articles and the different series following this link: Articles
